World Scouts Moot

One thousand-six hundred scouts from sixty-six countries are meeting in Kenya for the 13th world scout moot, the first such global gathering of scouts on African soil since the inception of the scouting movement a century ago. A moot is held every four years and generally attended by older scouts. Speaking during the official opening of the conference at Jamhuri park, President Kibaki said Kenya plays a central role in the scouting movement given that its founder, Lord Baden Powell and his wife,  settled and were are buried in Kenya.
