Flirting lands talkative man in trouble

  By Eric Lungai

A man in Vihiga County may never flirt with women in matatus again after a woman took his flirting seriously.

On the less than 30 minutes ride from Majengo to Luanda, only a few words that the man had said complementing the woman’s beauty convinced her she had landed a good man.

“You look good and any man can easily want to marry you,” the man had said.

The woman, who had looked dejected for a considerable part of the journey, turned cheerful suddenly and started talking to the man.

“You think I am good looking and marriageable?” she asked him, expectantly.

The man nodded and they started chatting. After a while, it got heated and the woman requested the man for his phone number. She also went ahead to tell him that she was ready to be his wife. The man was taken aback and hesitated before he half-heartedly let out a dry laugh and said he could not.

The woman is said to have been so furious she insulted the man for ‘leading her on’.

The war of words ensued between the two and even when some elderly women tried to intervene, they couldn’t resolve the dispute.

When the man alighted at Luanda, the woman followed him demanding answers.

The two created a scene and they looked like two lovers having a tiff.
