Mombasa senator Hassan Omar has hinted that most leaders in Kenya are mocking the health sector in the country.Omar said that the country’s leadership has not invested in the health sector to guarantee them even a chance of being treated in the same Kenyan hospitals.

Speaking on KTN TVs today Omar said that it is so upsetting to see Kenyan leaders going to be treated abroad for an ailment that could be treated in Kenya.

The Mombasa senator said that by doing that as a leader you are openly saying that you don’t trust the country's health facilities. He pointed out the case of Issac Ruto seeking health intervention in South Africa for a scar treatment yet it could be treated in Kenya.

He blamed a number of leaders for using the health facility to siphon public funds from the unsuspecting Kenyans.

According to him, leaders are supposed to bridge the gap of inequality. He said that the services that the leaders access to should also be accessed by the common mwananchi.

He added that if there was equality in the health sector the ongoing doctors strike could have ended long time ago because the leaders could have felt the same pinch the common mwananchi is feeling.

On matters of education, Omar rubbished the move by political leader personalizing schools in Kenya. He said as a leader he knows several schools that have been built by public money yet named after a certain leader.

He questioned the leaders who build schools, health facilities, and even maternity facilities yet they cannot take their children, families, and wives to those Government facilities.
