Champions League returns after long break

The world of football is coming to a screeching silence. The brash and noisy football fans have quickly faded, perhaps recuperating before they start all over again in a new season. If what separates a man from a boy in the world of business is the risk that they take, then the Champions’ League does the trick in the football world. (That’s why Manchester United fans were celebrating finishing third).

The elite competition where men thrive is back after more than 150-day hiatus occasioned by Covid-19 resumes this week after the “small boys” have finished playing albeit with a different format. The quarterfinals and semifinals are now one match instead of two legs. From the quarterfinal round through the final, every game will take place in Lisbon, Portugal.

The ‘Final Eight’ will start on August 12 and end with the final at Benfica’s Estadio da Luz on August 23. Tonight Pep Guardiola will lead his Sergio Aguero absent side to face Real Madrid in a last 16 clash to secure his spot in Lisbon.

The Los Blancos have been in sensational form since play resumed, blasting their way past Barcelona to clinch the LA Liga Tittle. Zinedine Zidane’s boys have to overcome the 2-1 loss to Manchester City in the first leg at home to book his flight to Lisbon.

If you can perform miracles, then Frank Lampard is in dire need of your services, and by extension Chelsea fans. They will pay you heavily. I promise. But here is what you have to know. Your client is trailing 3-0, his key players have injuries, and the venue is hostile, (away at Bayern Munich) and if the host scores one goal Chelsea will have to score 4.

Here is what you are up against. Hansi Flick’s team is unbeaten in its last 22 games and has scored at least three goals in five of its previous eight matches. Their striker Robert Lewandowski has 51 goals this season. If you can help book Chelsea a flight to Lisbon, please help do.
