Suspect in Sh300m fake gold scam finally arrested

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have finally arrested a wanted suspect in connection to the 3,000,000 USD fake gold scam.

Dillon Kibet, according to the DCI, was arrested following information availed by the public concerning his whereabouts.

“We wish to thank members of the public for availing information that has led to the arrest of Mr Dillon Kibet who was wanted in connection with a 3,000,000 USD FAKE Gold Scam,” said the DCI.

The DCI also appealed to Kenyans for information that will lead to the arrest of Kibet’s accomplice Rose Omamo Adhiambo.

In February 2020, the DCI started a manhunt for the two alongside several other people after they were suspected of defrauding the victim.

“We continue to appeal for information that will lead to the arrest of his accomplice Rose Omamo Adhiambo,” appealed the DCI.

A warrant of arrest was issued by the Chief Magistrate's Court at Milimani in February to have the suspects arrested.

Police are yet to arrested the others.
