Mutahi Kagwe responds to Eric Omondi’s imitation of him

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Thursday commented on a video that was done by comedian Eric Omondi.

In the video, Omondi imitated Kagwe’s COVID-19 updates, introducing a breath of fresh air amidst all the disruptions caused by the virus.

When starting his address, Kagwe, in a humorous way, said he would try to do it differently from the comedian this time.

While speaking at Afya House, the CS told salonists, barbers and mama mbogas that the economy depends on them and appealed to them to ensure social distancing and fumigation of their premises at all times.

He also added that although masks are readily available at the moment, the government will monitor the quality of the masks.

The CS maintained that all workers in market places should practice high levels of hygiene and told members of the public to assume the next person is positive.

He also insisted that people should stay home over the long Easter weekend since there are no parties and all bars are closed.

Kagwe also reserved special praise for Kitui County and Kitui County Textile Centre (KICOTEC) that is now manufacturing over 30,000 masks per day.

In the last 24 hours, 308 samples were tested and five tested positive.

Among the five, three are male and two are female. Three are from Nairobi and two are from Mombasa.

This now brings the number of positive cases in the country to 184.

So far 12 persons have been discharged while seven have succumbed to the virus.
