Coronavirus update: Bars to close at 7.30pm, supermarkets to limit number of shoppers

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Friday issued an update on the
number of Kenyans who have tested positive for the Coronavirus.
The CS said there were no new cases recorded but the country had to take the necessary precautionary measures since in most countries the cases increased drastically after the first two weeks.
"The next two weeks are critical. We should prepare for the worst," he said.

- Bars and entertainment joints to close at 7.30pm effective
Monday
- Bars have to ensure social distancing is adhered to
- Introduce home deliveries where possible
- Supermarkets to limit number of shoppers at any given time
based on premise size
- A queue management system where the elderly, expectant and the
disabled will be given preference
- Supermarkets encouraged to operate for 24hours (will be
provided with security where possible)
- One person at a time shopping policy i.e. leave your
children at home when you go to shop
- Management of open-air markets asked to ensure the area is
disinfected thoroughly
- Goods should be placed on raised platforms
- 14-seater matatu to carry a maximum of 8 passengers
- 25-seater matatu to carry a maximum of 15 passengers
- 30-seater and above should only carry a maximum of
60% of the total capacity (this applies to SGR)
- Matatus should be disinfected at the end of the day
- Employees should be encouraged to work from home
- Those at the office should also maintain some distance from one another
