St. Paul's University is set to down tools by Friday for one month, but subject to the government's directive.The students of Meru University were urged by their VC Romanus Odhiambo to come up with common WhatsApp groups and class emails.
In the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak and the suspension of all learning activities nationwide, universities have now embraced online learning.
This is after the government ordered an indefinite closure of all learning institutions. Speaking on Monday, Moi University VC Prof. Isaac Kosgey stated that the institution had suspended all its operations indefinitely, and with an immediate effect.
"All our clients should know that the university has suspended all its activities except for essential services like security, health, and central services," read a memo by the VC to all Moi fraternity.

"For the remaining part of the semester, classes and other planned academic sessions, including continuous assessment tests, will be administered virtually," Joseph Galgalo, the university VC stated.
The students of Meru University were urged by their VC Romanus Odhiambo to come up with common WhatsApp groups and class emails. These, according to Romanus, would ease communication between them and their lecturers during the closure period.
Romanus called upon the post-graduate learners to maintain contact with their supervisors. Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) had given its students until Thursday to vacate the institution.
Africa Nazarene University became the pioneer institution to cease operations on Friday after Kenya reported her first infection case.
According to Stanley Bhebhe, the school's VC, the decision was arrived at after it emerged that the patient resided at Ongata Rongai, where the school is situated.
The University of Nairobi yesterday confirmed the closure, calling upon the post-graduate learners to liaise with their supervisors. Physical lectures were put on hold until further notice.
"We intend to review our workflow with a view to allow staff in non-critical to undertake their duties from home," UoN VC Stephen Kiama revealed.
Mount Kenya University stated how they would administer online lectures with the help of TV 47, which would be used to televise lectures according to MKU VC Prof. Wandera.
The Education CS Prof. Magoha has directed all schools to arrange for their learners to be taken home or convenient places where parents and guardians can pick them.
"All school buses belonging to day schools should also be mobilized for the purpose," read part of CS Magoha's circular to education officials.
