Murkomen labels Mbadi a hypocrite for attending Dori burial

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Monday tore into National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi after his remarks during the burial of the late Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori.

Through his Twitter page, Murkomen shared a letter that was written by Mbadi in 2018 summoning Dori over his utterances.

At the time, ODM felt Dori had gone against the party rules by saying Raila Odinga had betrayed the coastal people.

Murkomen used this to attack Mbadi saying the ODM Party chairman had falsely accused Dori but still showed up for his burial.

“It’s even SAD that Hon.MBADI who falsely accused Hon.Suleiman Dori went ahead to pontificate in his funeral.

“That one has no soul or conscience,” wrote Murkomen.

Mbadi had been put on the spot by Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi who lashed out at him for bringing politics to the funeral.

The MP appeared to suggest that the office of the DP was being used to house criminals and his sentiments did not go down well with a section of the crowd.

Ahmednasir was irked by his remarks, labelling them ‘childish’ and unnecessary.

Muslims don't talk nonsense when they pray "salatul jenaza" for the dead...and the childish politics like the one Mbadi tried at Hon Dori's funeral was GARBAGE...” he wrote.

His sentiments were echoed by Prof Makau Mutua who stated: “NO ONE — irrespective of station — should TALK politics at FUNERALS. Cease and desist. Respect the departed and their families. Put a sock in it whether you are ODM, Jubilee, Wiper, HUSTLER.”
