Raphael Tuju jets back from UK after a fortnight of specialized medical care

Jubilee Party Secretary-General Mr. Raphael Tuju is back from the United Kingdom (U.K). Tuju left the country to the U.K two weeks ago in search of special medical care. This is following his involvement in an accident on February 12, on his way to the late ex-president Moi's send-off.

Close sources indicated that Mr. Tuju arrived in Kenya from London, on Saturday at around 5 am, aboard a KQ flight. Upon arrival, he was taken straight to his home in Karen.

Tuju left for the U.K on February 20, in the company of doctors and close family members. "He was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by government officials led by Defence Cabinet Secretary Monicah Juma, family members and friends at dawn on Saturday morning. Waziri was in high spirits," stated an airport source.

After his accident involvement, the former minister was rushed to Kijabe hospital for first aid. Afterward, he was airlifted to Nairobi Karen Hospital the same day for further medication.

Briefing on his response to medication on February 20, the Communications Director for Jubilee Party, Memusi Albert, stated that Tuju had been transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to the general ward after showing an improvement.

In his absence, the party management had been accorded to the Jubilee party executive director, James Waweru, among other directors.
