A rugged-looking man on Monday, January 13, 2020, roughed up police officers after his attempt to commit suicide backfired along Kimathi street in Nairobi.

According to a viral video, the man attracted a crowd that watched as he proclaimed he was ‘Jesus’ before his attempt to jump his life away.

On landing, an angry mob almost pounced on him before police officers came to his rescue.

It was an attempt by the police to arrest the man that turned him violent, a mood that led the man to use force against the officers.

In the video, one of the officers is overpowered and goes straight to the ground.

The officers, with the help of some members of the public, and by force, were finally able to restrain the man.

After he was defeated, the police officers cuffed and took off with him.

The suicidal man, however, escaped from the scene without any major injuries as he seemed fine even after the high fall from the lamb post he attempted suicide.

On the same day, news broke of a man who smashed dead his two-year-old son and hung himself in Makueni County.
