King Kaka reveals he has been summoned by the DCI

Kennedy Ombima aka King Kaka on Tuesday revealed that he had been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation.

This information was also relayed by activist Boniface Mwangi who called on members of the public to join him at DCI Headquarters along Kiambu Road.

“I have just been summoned by The CID,” wrote King Kaka.

Since releasing the song Wajinga Nyinyi, the rapper has been the talk of town as Kenyans agreed with the message in his song.

In the song, the rapper hits out at voters for electing bad leaders and puts a number of leaders on the spot for unfulfilled promises.

On Twitter, the rapper asked his fans to pray for him and netizens were quick to offer their support saying he just spoke the truth.

On Monday, Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru asked the rapper to pull down the song, terming it ‘highly defamatory’.

In a letter drafted by Kiragu Wathuta and Company Advocates, Waiguru argued that the song is reckless and malicious.

Further, King Kaka was instructed to:

  • Offer an apology to Waiguru
  • Write a full and unconditional admission of liability
  • Write a commitment not to release any further defamatory words against Waiguru

The artiste was also warned against redistribution of the song as it will result in a fresh defamatory action.

By the time this article was published, the DCI had not commented on the matter.
