Ingwe were the unlucky side as they drew 0-0 against KCB in a mid-week Kenyan Premier League match at Afraha Stadium, in Nakuru, yesterday.

AFC Leopards will blame themselves for not picking maximum points, especially in the second half after wasting numerous scoring chances. Strikers Vincent Oburu and Hansel Ochieng had an outing they would prefer to quickly forget.

The bankers were the first to show intent as forward Enock Agwanda unleashed a powerful volley in the 15th minute, which bounced off the goal-post. Seven minutes later, the former premier league champions showed their prowess as Oburu drilled thunderous shot, but missed the target with KCB goalkeeper Allan Owiny well beaten.

In the second half, KCB retreated into their half as AFC Leopards strikers Oburu, Ochieng (Hansel) and Austin Otieno went on an hunting escapade, but defenders Dennis Odhiambo, Badi Baraka, Bethwell Warambo and Mike Kibwage were hardly moved.

On their part, Leopards head coach Cassar Mbungo made two changes by bringing in striker John Makwata and Brian Marita for Ochieng (Hansel) and Boniface Makhekhe.

Both coaches were contented with the final result with Mbungo commending his players for snatching a point against the marauding bankers.

“Our defenders did a superb job by frustrating the efforts of KCB strikers. They (KCB) never made any serious attempts at our goal,” Mbungo said.
