You have teeth, BITE! – Murkomen’s message to Chief Justice David Maraga after his address

Senate majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Monday, November 4, 2019, asked Chief Justice David Maraga to stamp his authority.

Through his Twitter account, the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator used the example of a tiger, citing that it does not announce before it attacks its prey.

The senator further asked the Chief Justice to lead the judiciary as he should and asked him to act first then let the results be seen by the public.

“My MESSAGE to the Chief Justice Maraga you have teeth, BITE. “A tiger does not proclaim its tigritude before it strikes.” You gave your tormentors an inch they want a mile. LEAD” said the legislator.

The majority leader, however, expressed his support for the chief Justice and Judiciary.

“All said and done I STAND with the CJ and the JUDICIARY!” Concluded Murkomen.

This came after the Chief Justice expressed his disappointment towards the proposed budget cuts for the Judiciary.

A tough speaking Maraga condemned the government and accused it of leading with impunity.

“They are trying to control the Judiciary. They want to make us puppets. The government can’t lead with impunity. It should respect court decisions." Said the CJ.

Maraga directed the chief registrar to take the judiciary’s budget estimates directly to parliament and not treasury.
