Popular Kikuyu Benga musician Kamande wa Kioi was on Friday morning involved in a road accident along Kamiti road.

According to our sources, the musician’s personal car is said to have collided with a Nazigi Sacco bus as he was traveling from Kasarani to Kahawa West.

The artiste, however, managed to escape with minor injuries and was rushed to the Nairobi Women's` Hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.

This was confirmed by Ngaruiya Junior, a friend, via a Facebook post.

"Kamande Wa Kioi was today involved in an accident and I want to thank God because he is fine. We are at the Nairobi Women's Hospital and he is receiving treatment," said Ngaruiya.

Fast-rising Kikuyu musician Samuel Muchoki, on his part, asked the nation to pray for Kioi but assured his fans that the musician is in stable condition.

“I can confirm that he is stable, he had a bruise and was complaining of chest pains and was taken to hospital for further check-up,” he narrated.

Adding: “Fans need not worry, I know how shocking it is to hear this considering that we just lost John De'Mathew. I also had an accident last Sunday in Kahawa West but escaped unhurt. We need prayers,” he said.

Kioi is known for his hit songs Karanga Chapo, Uhuru ni Witu (Uhuru belongs to us), Kaana Funny (a funny child), Mu-Ovacado and Marigiti.
