Martin Kamotho aka Githeri Man became an online sensation and consequently a national hero during the 2017 General Election.

Pictured in a queue firmly grasping his githeri (a mixture of beans and maize), Kamotho went about his business oblivious of his surroundings as he waited to vote.

He was later awarded the Head of State Commendation by President Uhuru Kenyatta and things were looking up for the Kayole resident.

However, soon afterwards, word went round that Githeri man was struggling with alcohol addiction and Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wa Muchomba stepped in to assist him.

He was taken to Mama Care Addiction and Recovery Center and graduated after successfully completing the program.

On Wednesday, some not so encouraging photos of Kamotho went viral on social media and he looked totally drunk.

He was being pushed on a trolley and had no idea of where he was.

The photos elicited mixed reactions and although some bashed him, others were kind enough to suggest alternative ways of helping him.
