Diamond vows to revenge following Tanzania’s loss to Kenya

Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz has vowed to get even following Taifa Stars’ loss to Harambee Stars in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Through a post on Instagram, albeit on a light note, the artiste acknowledged the loss was difficult to take but said he would revenge in a different way.

“Yani chumba chote nikiona kama jela leo (crying emoji) ila haina noma, najua nitalipizia wapi,” wrote Diamond.

The two teams were battling for three points to have a chance of progressing to the next round and after the final whistle, Kenyans took to Twitter to throw shade at their East African neighbours.

Diamond is loved in Kenya and his songs have been big hits locally but he was not spared following Kenya’s 3-2 win.

Social media was awash with reactions after the match and Kenyans made fun of Tanzanians who now have a slim chance of proceeding to the next round.

Kenya is currently the best-placed third place team but still has to play against Senegal who narrowly lost to Algeria yesterday.

Several leaders have thrown their weight behind Harambee Stars as they seek to qualify for the round of 16 and singled out striker Michael Olunga for a splendid performance.

The former Gor Mahia forward scored a goal in each half to keep Stars’ hopes alive.
