Donald Trump has made a bold claim that his most recent meeting with Queen Elizabeth was the "most fun she's had in 25 years."

The President made the claim on US breakfast show Fox & Friends Friday - and the bragging didn't stop there.

He said: "I have such a great relationship, and we were laughing and having fun. And her people said she hasn't had so much fun in 25 years."

"Now, then I got criticized for it because they said we were having too much fun."

President Trump and his wife Melania visited the UK between June 3 and 5.

They were joined by Trump’s grown-up children Don Jr, Ivanka, Eric and Tiffany, with the extended Trump brood treated to a State Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

Queen Elizabeth, who rarely shares her private thoughts, has celebrated many happy events in the 25-year time frame that the President referred to including her Golden and Diamond jubilees to the throne, family weddings and the birth of several great grandchildren.

Not forgetting Royal Ascot in 2013 when her horse won the Gold Cup race and the 2012 London Olympics where she filmed a James Bond video with 007 actor Daniel Craig.

Trump later heralded her as an “incredible lady”.

The 45th US President also said he had a "great relationship" with Prince Charles despite accidentally calling him the 'Prince of Whales' in a now deleted tweet.

"It doesn’t matter, but we have a great relationship and I had a great relationship with Charles, and honestly I have a very good relationship with a lot of the foreign leaders," he added.
