Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina chege reduced to tears after being heckled

It was a low moment for Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege after she was booed on Friday by a section of the crowd chanting pro-Ruto slogans.

The drama happened during an Embrace rally in the county. the incident came at a time when Jubilee party is split between two rival groups, Tanga-tanga and Kieleweke.

Chege was reduced to tears after several efforts to address the crowd fell fta.

It took the intervention of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and other female leaders to calm her down as tears overcame her.

“I beseech you as the mother of your county…” she said between tears prompting the women leaders in a bid to console her.

After being calmed down, she took to the podium to lecture the gathering telling them she didn’t deserve to be embarrassed before her guest.

“Do you love Uhuru or not? Do you want to embarrass him? Are you ready to support him to the end of his term? That is where I am unapologetically,” she told the crowd.

She also claimed that her opponents were behind the rude reception and urged the residents not to be misused saying it was not time for politicking.

Embrace movement is a group of female legislators organized by female member s of parliament, governor and other leaders from the executive arm of the National Government.

Their agenda seeks to rally the county behind Uhuru-Raila handshake and also organize campaigns against femicide.

They have held rallies in Nairobi, Baringo and the latest being Murang'a.
