I can’t do anything about Alexis Sanchez — Ole Gunnar Solskjær

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær on Tuesday evening asked Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez to step up after an underwhelming performance against PSG in the Champions League.

Speaking after the defeat to the Parisian club, Solskjær acknowledged that the former Arsenal star is a quality player but needs to find himself.

“I can’t do anything about Alexis Sanchez. He needs to find himself when he plays because we know there is a quality player there,” he said.

Manchester United was beaten 2-0 by an impressive PSG side courtesy of goals by Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe.

The United caretaker boss admitted his side was outclassed in the tie but refused to rule out a second leg comeback.

Paul Pogba was given his marching orders late into the match and will miss the reverse tie at the Parc des Princes.

Solskjær asked his troupes to quickly pick themselves up and focus on the next two matches that will be pivotal in United’s season.

The Red Devils next travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the 5th round of the FA Cup before welcoming high-flying Liverpool six days later.

This was Solskjær’s first defeat as the club’s caretaker manager but he promised the side would quickly bounce back as the focus was now on the next game.
