Nkata given three-match ultimatum as high flying Mathare comes calling.

Kakamega Homeboyz coach Paul Nkata-led technical bench has three games, starting with today’s SportPesa Premier League match against high-flying Mathare United at Kasarani, to save their job, the club’s management has said.

The 11th placed Homeboyz made a brilliant start to the season winning their first two matches against KCB (1-0) and AFC Leopards (3-0), but they have now gone five matches without a victory.

And to keep his job, the former Tusker coach must register positive results against Mathare, Ulinzi Stars (Januray 27) and Bandari (January 30).

But while Homeboyz will be seeking to bounce back to their winning ways, second placed Francis Kimanzi’s men will be aiming to leapfrog Bandari at the summit.

In Machakos, former league champions Sofapaka will be out to end their six-game winless run when they take on Sony Sugar at 4.15pm as KCB battle with Vihiga United in an early kick off match at the same venue.

Just like Homeboyz, Batoto Ba Mungu, who recently re-appointed John Baraza as head coach on interim basis, have not tasted victory since overcoming Mount Kenya United 2-1 on the opening day.

Though Nkata down played talk that he is under pressure over his team’s poor run, he is aware of the task lying ahead.
