Tom Mako alias Junior, 27 who married two women at one colorful wedding on Tuesday has explained where he got his inspiration.
The man from Kajiado has said his inspiration to wed two brides comes from his polygamous father.
He revealed this in an interview with Citizen TV just days after his unusual wedding.
“Kama babangu vile nilikuwa namuona anakuja akiwa mlevi, ama akiwa kule ametoka anafikiria mahali ataenda. Hata mimi huwa nakuja nikifikiria nitaenda wapi, ama jana nilikuwa wapi, ("I used to see my father coming home drunk, he had a choice of which wife to go to, I also want to come home with a choice thinking where I was yesterday as I decide)” he said.
Elizabeth and Joyce live in different houses that are fully equipped in his home in Kisaju.
In a colourful ceremony at Kisaju, Mako wedded his brides Elizabeth Silamoi, 24, from Enkorika in Mashuuru and Joyce Tikoyian, 23, from Empakasi near Kitengela.
Mako met Silamoi while grazing his cows two years ago at her home.
A year ago, he met Tikoyian while also grazing his animals in Empakasi.
Tikoyian went to school up to Form 4 while Silamoi made it to Form 3.
In Maasai custom, paying pride price is done before marriage. Mako accomplished that before their grand wedding.
