Kenyan MP using police service to harass opponents

A legislator is being accused of using members of the police service to harass and frustrate his opponents.

The second term MP who is a close friend of the local area OCPD works with him to ensure that those opposed to his leadership have a hard time.

Recently the police boss deployed his officers to disperse members of the public who had converged for a function convened by a man considered the MP's fiercest critic and top competitor.

The meeting ended in disarray, with scores of those who attended getting clobbered up as a group allied to the lawmaker and those of his opponent clashed.

This is despite the fact that the politician had obtained a permit for the meeting.

A section of the constituents now want the police chief who has entered into an unholy alliance with the MP to be transferred.
