Politician who cannot write her name correctly embarrassed online

Do political parties consider the literacy levels of individuals they nominate to county assemblies?

This is the question residents of a county in Luo Nyanza are asking themselves, after it emerged that a nominated MCA cannot write her name correctly.

Over the weekend, the politician was reduced to a butt of all jokes after someone took a photograph of a committee meeting attendance list and later shared it on social media.

In the widely circulated picture, the member of the county assembly misspelled her name and had difficulties writing the word “member” only stating that she was a ‘memba’.

Never mind that the said individual is a member of the key Budget and appropriation committee.
