Kenyan man stabs his father to death over land

Police are looking for a man who stabbed his father to death after differing over land in Songoywet village, Kipkellion.

Kunyak Chief Paul Langat said the suspect killed Samuel Kibet Too, 53, on Friday night. 

Kericho County Police Commander James Mugera said the assailant was aggrieved by his father’s refusal to apportion him land. 

“After committing the offence the assailant who was still armed with the murder weapon, fled towards Homa Lime on the border of Kericho and Kisumu counties. Police are in pursuit of the murder suspect,” said the county police commander. 

He said the body of the deceased was removed to Muhuroni hospital mortuary pending postmortem and burial arrangement. 

“We are confident that we are going to catch up with the murder suspect and charge him in court for the crime,” he said. 


Meanwhile, Dennis Kimutai, 21, who is disabled is demanding justice over assault in Chemoset village, Cheptororiet/Seretut ward in Belgut constituency.

In a video seen by Sunday Standard, a man believed to be Kimutai is captured being punched on the head by a man.

He claimed that the man attacked him after the differed over politics in Cheptororiet trading centre on Sunday.

A medical examination report at Sossiot health centre indicated that Kimutai suffered facial swelling and a wounded lip.

He reported the matter at Sossiot Police Station.
