EACC launches Bible study program to fight corruption

The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) on Wednesday launched a Bible Study Guide to be used by both groups and individuals to fight corruption.

The guide, Integrity: A Weapon Against Corruption, is intended to help Kenyans learn more about God.

The event was graced by EACC Commissioner Rose M. Macharia and EACC Deputy CEO Michael Mubea and encouraged the whole nation to participate.

“Every member of our society has an opportunity to contribute to the success of the war against corruption.

“Regardless of your status in the society, you can make a difference. The Bible Study Guide inspires us to act and to believe our country can be free from corruption,” said the EACC.

The anti-graft body further added: “The Bible Study Guide is intended to help Kenyans interact with the Bible and discover God's position on corruption and his direction on living a corruption free life.

“The fight against corruption is winnable but everyone must commit to live a life that enhances the virtues of integrity, justice, patriotism and love for one another.”

This evoked reactions from netizens who were pessimistic about the move, some questioning the integrity of leaders who always go to church but still engage in corruption.
