The cartels reaping big from road accidents in Kenya

There are some people who rejoice when there is a road crash and for them, the nastier the better.

It is emerging that some people are making money whenever there is a crash.

They start by offering breakdown vehicles which charge a non-negotiable fee of Sh8500 for towing the wreckage to a police station.

Then comes the issue of abstract where the crash victim has to part with another fixed fee of Sh3,000 for a government document which ought to be free.

Before the dazed victims of the crashes are let out of the stations they still have to cough some more money on inspection before their cars can be released for repairs.
