A popular city businessman is said to be devastated following the recent decision by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his political adversary Raila Odinga to bury the hatchet.

Weeks after the symbolic handshake between the two politicians, the businessman known for his lavish and exotic taste of expensive things, is said to be still in denial.

Sources have confided to The Grapevine that the businessman with deep pockets has taken to binge drinking as a way of escaping the reality of what happened in Harambee House.

It is understood that the man had splashed millions of shillings to ensure that there was a wedge between political foes now turned friends.

A female MP has sent panic down the spines of politicians from one region after she sent signals that she could be eyeing a governor’s seat in 2022.

The veteran politician has set up secretariats in all wards in her home county, alarming leaders from the region who had already agreed on a line-up for the next General Election.

Two MPs- one from the region and another representing a city constituency – as well as the current deputy are among those who have expressed interest in the seat.
