REVEALED: How Arsenal legend Thierry Henry made Alexis Sanchez choose Manchester United

Chile international and now Manchester United attacker Alexis Sanchez has finally completed his move to Old Trafford with Armenian player of the year Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to the Emirates.

Sanchez and Mkhitaryan were both unveiled yesterday after a moneyless swap deal between Arsenal and Man United materialized.

Sanchez is said to earn 600,000k a week as a Red Devils player, making his the highest earning player in British history.

Speaking to journalists after being unveiled, Sanchez said that he always dreamt of playing for Man United since he was a boy and could not turn down the offer immediately it came through to him.

“I am thrilled to be joining the biggest club in the world. I have spent three-and-a-half wonderful years at Arsenal and I bring with me very positive memories of that great club and its fans. The chance to play in this historic stadium and to work with Jose Mourinho was something I could not turn down,” said Sanchez.

He added that he was proud to be the first Chilean to play for Man United’s first team and hoped to show the fans just what he could do once on the pitch.

Jose Mourinho heaped praise on the forward, saying he was one of the best attackers in the world and would complete Man United’s talented group of attackers.

“He will bring his ambition, drive and personality, qualities that make a Manchester United player and a player that makes the team stronger and the supporters proud of their club dimension and prestige,” a happy Mourinho said. He also wished Mkhitaryan the best of luck while at Arsenal.

Through a post on one of his social media pages, Sanchez revealed that he spoke with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry before making his choice. This angered many Arsenal fans who referred to Henry as a snake after the revelation.

“I remember today, a conversation I had with Henry, a historic Arsenal player, who changed club for the same reason and today is my turn,” wrote Sanchez.
