Tactics being used by Jubilee to win over Raila Odinga’s backers by March

Jubilee Party is planning to win over most of Raila Odinga’s supporters in an effort to isolate the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader by March next year.

According to an article published in the Daily Nation, Jubilee wants to separate Raila and his co-principals through divide and rule and government appointments.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka are said to be on Jubilee’s radar, with the party trying hard to reach out to the two by proposing positions in government.

Jubilee is also said to be targeting some Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) officials.

The article further explains that the ruling party wants other parties to walk out of NASA, depicting ODM as the oppressors.

Musalia Mudavadi is the latest NASA leader to come out and confirm that he has been approached to change allegiance.

In a statement released to the media, Mudavadi said that some Jubilee leaders had approached him and asked him to abandon the reform train. He, however, warned them that he would not switch allegiance and will pursue electoral reforms.

“They don’t know what steel I am made of. This is my New Year message to them; let me assure you I cannot jump off this electoral justice reform train into an empty cattle carriage, “added the ANC leader.

Majority Leader in the National assembly Aden Duale said that it was up to the other NASA principals to decide whether the former Prime Minister would run for presidency again in 2022 or retire.

Raila also said that he was approached with cash and asked to go into retirement but declined the offer.
