City politician makes Parliament come to a standstill

A moneyed city politician on Wednesday evening ‘stormed’ the National Assembly armed with ‘campaign goodies’. Multiple sources have told Grapevine that Parliament came to a standstill with the arrival of the popular politician, whose mission was to drum up support for his close friend who is eyeing a slot in a regional assembly.

Junior parliamentary staff, guests of MPs and even journalists who were still at the precincts of the National Assembly at the time he arrived were directed to leave by orderlies.

We haven’t established what ‘gift’ the man doled to legislators, but many of them were seen driving out happily. It is definitely an early Christmas for the MPs.
