Moses Kuria’s short ‘letter’ to Raila Odinga after his speech in Bondo

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Saturday 21 October wrote a short ‘letter’ to National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga concerning his speech in Bondo.

Moses Kuria, who addressed Raila Odinga as a Statesman, asked the NASA leader if he knew the whereabouts of his sister, Ruth Odinga and Kisumu Senator Fred Outa saying that the police were out looking for them for the violence against Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials.

“Hallo Statesman Raila Odinga. Follow up to your comments in Bondo yesterday whereby you asked your supporters to refrain from violence, the police are looking for your sister Ruth Odinga and Kusumu Senator Fred Outa for violence meted upon IEBC officials. Might you by any chance know where they are? Do you feel like giving a helping hand for the police to arrest people who did exactly what you warned against?” Moses Kuria posted on his Facebook page.

This comes a day after the Gatundu South MP said that he really liked Raila’s speech in Bondo because he preached peace. The MP’s post caught the attention of many Kenyans who were moved by his words.

“I really liked Raila's speech in Bondo. Do not beat up Kikuyus, Kisiis and Somali businesspeople in Bondo. I think that’s statesmanship. Now also tell them not to demonstrate with rocks. Tell them not to attack police stations because if they do so, predictably and invariably they will be putting themselves in harm's way. Nonetheless it was a good start. I want to remind the people of Kiambu that Luos and other communities living with us are our brothers and sisters. They have the right to vote for Raila or Uhuru just like you. Let’s keep the peace,” posted Moses Kuria.

Jubilee Party, led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have intensified campaigns in most parts of the country in preparedness for the upcoming repeat presidential poll slated for October 26. NASA leaders have however insisted that no elections will take place if their demands are not met. They claimed that IEBC as constituted cannot conduct a free and credible election.
