Don’t Marry a Career Woman if you are not ready to Wash Dishes while she is Behind Laptop Completing Work Assignment

The fear of marrying a career woman is as old as the first time women entered formal employment. However, the fear is yet to go away, and may even grow stronger. In 2006, Michael Noer wrote an article in the Forbes titled “Don’t Marry Career Women”, reminding his fellow men of dangers of marrying such ladies. His main argument was that career women are more likely to be unfaithful, initiate divorce, and are not interested in children. Even though this argument may be true, particularly based on the previous social studies, the world is full of career ladies who are happily married and respect their men.

Contrary to what Noer and his supporters think, I believe, to be successful in modern world, great men need to marry career ladies. However, they must be ready to help in doing household chores, even when the wife is seated on a couch working on her laptop. In order to sustain two careers in a marriage, one partner should be ready to stand for one another at times, and that includes washing dishes and taking care of children. Based on recent study that was done by Pew Research, sharing household chores is currently one of the highest-ranking factors that determine a happy marriage, especially when both couples are working. Sharing household chores come third after good sex and faithfulness. Remember, both of your are working, which means that you share same challenges such as fatigue, job-related stress, and time constraint.
