Manchester United representatives spotted in US – possible deal for highly rated midfielder

  • Man united's tour of the United States came to an end with a 1-0 defeat to European rivals FC Barcelona
  • Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof are the only signings Man united have made with 37 days left before the transfer window closes.

Manchester United representatives have converged in the United States with Arturo Canales after the club completed their 18-day-tour of the region, winning two games and losing on.

Such a meeting only points to a possible deal for another player or a contract extension.

Canales is Ander Herrera’s representative. Being one of the best performers in the 2016/17 season in his position, Herrera has become a target for top European clubs, with Ernesto Valverde’s Barcelona sitting in prime position to sign him.

However, Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he intends to keep Ander at the club, announcing that he would be the club’s assistant captain, second to veteran Michael Carrick.

Herrera has only 12 months left on his contract and Valverde, who is a strong admirer of the player had intentions of signing him.

Barcelona may be forced to stop their pursuit of the player if he signs a new contract at Manchester United and focus on signing another midfielder.

Ander Herrera played under Valverde during his time at Atletico Bilbao before making the switch to Manchester United.
