Atwoli – I am the third most popular person in Kenya after Uhuru and Raila

COTU Boss Francis Atwoli has made it clear that apart from President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA flagbearer Raila Odinga, he is the most popular person in the country.

Speaking during an interview at a local station, the Central Organisation of Trade Unions boss spoke on a number of issues, which included the recent attack on the Judiciary by Jubilee. He also spoke of how he should be given credit for uniting Luhya’s at the Bukhungu stadium earlier in the year, with the community being presented with Musalia Mudavadi as their leader.

Atwoli who was returning to the country the same day Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery died hailed Nkaissery’s professionalism and also explained how shocked he was to hear of the news.

The late Nicholas Biwott was also a subject of debate, with Atwoli saying that he met Biwott several times since they used to deposit their cash at the same bank. He also described the late Biwott as mysterious, saying that he was part of the team that kept Moi in power for a long time, and that he died with a lot of secrets.

When asked about the Kirinyaga Governorship race, Atwoli was quick to highlight what Kenyans have known Waiguru for.

He then said that apart from the president and the former Prime Minister, he is Kenya’s most popular person.
