Corrupt Kidero cannot pay your fees, Sonko tells Nairobi comrades

Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko slammed the country's capital city Governor Evans Kidero for under utilizing funds which he termed capable to pay Nairobi comrades fees.

He said that the funds the County Government had was enough to pay for the fees of all Daystar University students but due to corruption in Kidero's government then this would not happen.

He was speaking during the Nairobi Gubernatorial debate held at the Daystar University held on Monday July 3, 2017.

"The Governor here has large sum of money that he can use to pay off Daystar University students fees, which he has not yet done," Sonko exclaimed.

Sonko said this in a bid to add weight to what one of the youth in the audience asked as to what the Governor had done to the youths in the county as he felt unsupported by the current government.

The Nairobi gubernatorial race is being contested by four aspirants, that is, the incumbent Evan Kidero of Odm, Mike Sonko of Jubilee, Peter Kenneth as independent candidate and Miguna Miguna as independent candidate.

Miguna Miguna who seemed to differ bitterly with the incumbent Kidero and Senator Sonko promised to offer 20,000 scholarships for needy bright students as a way to boost education levels among the county students.

" I will provide 20,000 scholarships for the needy but bright students as a way to empower the youths in the county. I will also provide ICT centres across the county where our youths will access free internet to help them in their studies." Said Miguna Miguna.

"Furthermore, I will create a ministry of youths which will be headed by my Deputy that will solely handle issues that pertain the youths," Miguna continued.

Peter Kenneth who is running as an independent candidate asked Nairobi county voters to evaluate the track records of each of the aspirants before the voting day.

" Nairobi voters should re-examine our track records to ensure they vote in the right person come August 8,2017," Kenneth said.
