NCIC says Raila remarks in Kajiado are 'very disturbing'

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has confirmed being in possession and having listened to the audio visual in which the NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga is accused of making inflammatory remarks at a function in Kajiado County.

NCIC commissioner Irene Wanyoike has said they had keenly listened and preparesd a report that would aid its officers in investigation into the claims against Mr Odinga and had had directed the investigators to focus on specific words in the clip.

The commissioner’s statement indicated, “the audio visual version of the script in contention is very disturbing.”

Mr Odinga is accused of having made the said disturbing remarks last week on Wednesday during his series of campaign rallies trying to woo Kajiado voters to support his presidential bid in the August poll.

NCIC is at the second final stage of preparing the report on the claims and will give its recommendations on the sentiments by the ODM party leader.

Commissioner Wanyoike said the NCIC officers had been sent to Kajiado where they are expected to prepare a special report on how the residents interpreted the remarks by Mr Odinga who has said many have wrongly understood his message.

Mr Odinga in a rejoinder to calls for his probing and arrest emerging from Jubilee politicians said he had done nothing wrong and that he had been misquoted wrongfully leaving out his underlying message to the Kajiado residents.
