How some conmen are using Sonkos’s name to con people money

Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko who is also eyeing the Nairobi gubernatorial seat has warned Kenyans against conmen purporting to be him and using his name to con unsuspecting Kenyans their hard earned money.



Speaking during an interview at a local radio station on Wednesday Sonko said that Kenyans should be aware that there are some people who are out to make money using his name.He said this after one woman allegedly accused him of receiving money from her that was meant to process a motorbike logbook which was being donated to her by him(Sonko).



Sonko on his part said denied the claims saying that he doesn't offer motorbikes to the public and if anything if he had to give out motorbikes he will not ask for any money.



“There are some conmen who are using my name to con people money cheating them to pay a certain amount as fees for logbook and transfer for a motorbike to be delivered. Kindly be very careful before you become the next victim as I do not offer any motorbikes to the public,” said Sonko.



According to him, there is a section of people who have used his name to open fake Mpesa account which they use to con unsuspecting Kenyans. Sonko said that after realizing that this was happening he informed the police who arrested some of the conmen who were arrested and charged in court.



Additionally, he said that it was very unfortunate that the suspects were set free on bond and they are out there again conning people.



Meanwhile, Sonko told Kenyans that they should know that his official facebook page has over,1,174,998 fans and is verified with a blue tick by facebook.
