How Uhuru and Ruto made me lose my seat

A former Member of Parliament has hinted on how President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto made him lose his seat.

Speaking to a Standard Media Group reporter during an interview the former Chereng’any legislator Joshua Kipserem arap Kuttuny said that he devoted much of his precious time campaigning for President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto at the expense of doing his own campaign.

Kuttuny said he knew he was a popular and young, vibrant Mp that is why he took the key role in the formation of Jubilee coalition and above all ensuring that Jubilee carried the day in 2013 General Election.

“I lost in the last General Election because I failed to do serious campaigns in Cherangany and instead concentrated on national politics thinking that my constituents will understand and vote me as their MP for another term.Only to realise that my perception was wrong,” said Kuttuny.

According to him although he was so disappointed for not being elected as an MP by that loss he has been able to learn a lot. He also said that he did not live a miserable life as some of the former politicians who had no other plan in case they failed.

The former President Uluru’s adviser said that he was able to cope up with life out of politics because he went back to doing what he used to do before he joined politics-farming and side hustles.

On the other hand, he said that he has nothing to regret because President Uhuru Kenyatta won the presidency showing that his effort was not lost.

“Though I lost my Cherangany seat I am glad we clinched the presidency despite President Uhuru and his deputy facing charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) also being perceived as the underdogs,” added Kuttuny.

Meanwhile, Kuttuny has declared his intentions of vying for the Cherangany parliamentary seat and according to him is will beat the incumbent.
