Administration police officers Friday in Vihiga County at Chavakali open air market decided to do things in a different style.Instead of pursuing wrong doers in the society with their gun, arresting them and putting them behind bars in a bid to reform them, they decided that this time round they will use music to arrest people and bring them to the Lord instead of taking them to jail.At they raised their voice in praise a crowd of stunned residents gathered around there to take a glimpse of what was going on.With a lot of zeal and passion, they perfected their art of singing and dancing vigorously as they displayed some of the skilled they acquired during their training. At the end of it all, they went ahead to preaching a very powerful sermon that touched the residents. When they made an altar call some people moved forward to receive salvation. Some of them went ahead to admit there wrong doings which to many was punishable by law. Some said how they have been stealing, some hinted on how they have used and sold drugs like bhang and alcohol. The police offices guided and counseled those who had accepted to follow Christ leaving their wrong doing after they had accepted Jesus as their personal savior. One of the police officers admitted that it is hard as law enforcers to change the society through the work they do if God doesn’t intervene. In addition, they told the resident to accept police officers as social being unlike some of them always believe that they are not people one can freely associate with. According to them when they are brother, sisters, husband, wives, uncles and aunts to some people somewhere. There move was welcomed by the Joy Celebration Centre church Bishop Evans Achanga who said it was good to see such dedicated officers who are transforming the society using the word of God.
