Professor Anyang Nyong'o speaks about the fake certificates allegations leveled against Joho

Kisumu senator professor Anyang' Nyong'o has voiced his concerns bout the allegations leveled against the validity of Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s form four certificate.

Speaking on NTV on Monday during an interview Nyong'o said that there are so many people that were allegedly accused of having fake academic papers and apparently the Government was doing nothing against it, yet it was on Joho’s neck over the same.

He further questioned KNEC where it was when Joho vied for a parliamentary seat for two terms. Above all Joho was also cleared to vie for Mombasa governorship four years ago.

"Joho has been a member of parliament for two terms. If indeed this exercise was serious they should have gotten him then. The CID and KNEC should come clear on this unless there are some political woes to be settled,” said Nyong’o.

He further said that the two bodies should answer why they didn’t do a proper homework when Joho submitted his academic certificates while seeking to be an MP for two terms and then as a governor.

He also said that he was not out to defend Joho neither was he validating the documents. He also said that the two bodies submitted their evidence to the court to prove the authenticity of the certificates whereby the court proved that they were valid.

Nyong’o wondered why Joho should be cleared by one court after the other and still there are so many questions being raised against his certificates.

Additionally, he sought clarity on what the president meant by saying that we will sort him out, here referring to Joho.

According to him what is happening to Joho right now is an outcome of the president’s remarks.

“These things are related because the examination council and the CID cannot wake up one day and say, look let us look at Joho’s case whether he has valid certificates or not. These events are related. The Kenya National Examination Council is prompted by a powerful force to sort out Joho which also instructed the CID to do so.It comes out clearly that there are facts missed by the state agency before we before are convinced that Joho has fake certificates,” added Nyong’o.

This comes as one man who claims that he went to school with Joho comes out saying that he is ready to bring out other people who schooled with Joho.
