A decision by the British Government comes as big relief to Kenyans

The government of Britain has done Kenya well after they did away with the decision they had made against Kenya more than five years ago.

Earlier on the British Government had warned its citizens travelling to Kenya. It told them to avoid most coastal resorts including the region's main airport at Mombasa citing threats from Somali Islamist group Al Shabaab, insecurity, and kidnapping of tourist by the Al-Shabaab militia.

This came as a big blow to Kenya because it halted tourists’ activities at the coast. So many people lost their jobs. The coastal hotels made a lot of losses as the number of tourists who were coming to the coast dwindled.

Efforts by the Kenyan Government to intervene so that the British government considers lifting the ban in a bid to help the struggling tourism industry were futile.

The government of Britain having taken this decision it is a big boost to the tourism sector.

It will help Kenyans to have their jobs back, businesses will be revived and at the end of it all, our economy will grow.

In short what this means is that farmers will be able to sell their farm produce to hotels at the coast, tour guides will get jobs, fishermen will now be able to sell their catch to these hotels occupied by tourist. The number of flight to the area will also greatly increase.
