February Premier League(EPL) Awards: Hazard, Kane and Pep Guardiola honoured

Tottenham Hotspur’s flaring striker Harry Kane is the player of the month for the month of February. The 23-year old England international has now claimed the honor for the fourth time in his career.

The forward has netted four goals in three Premier League matches including a hat-trick in a 4-0 home win over Stoke City on February 4.

Kane, who also is the top scorer right now in the EPL with a total of 19 goals and four assists, beat five other contenders: West Bromwich Albion defender Gareth Mc Auley, Hull City keeper Eldin Jakupovic, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Manchester City’s pair of Gabriel Jesus and David Silva.

January, his teammate Dele Alli had won the award.

Eden Hazard’s amazingly impressive dribble past three Arsenal players saw the Belgian forward smash in past Petr Cech as the Blues registered a 3-1 victory over their London chief rivals early last month.

Hazard won from a shortlist of eight contenders after the total tally of combined votes of a panel of experts and the general public as well. Robbie Brady(Burnley), Lukaku(Everton), Mkhitaryan (Man Utd), Sigurdsson(Swansea), Kane(Spurs) and Leicester’s Danny Drinkwater.

He becomes the second Chelsea player to win the award this campaign after Pedro who won it back in November last year. In January, Hammer’s striker Andy Carroll won the accolade.

Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola took the Manager of the month award after guiding the Citizens to three wins in three premier league matches: 4-0 win away at West ham, 2-1 home win against Swansea and seeing Bournemouth 2-1 at Vitality Stadium.

It is the first award for the 46-year old Spaniard since his arrival in the Premier League last summer. He becomes the first City’s head coach to scoop the award since Manuel Pellegrini in August 2015.

Antonio Conte of Chelsea, Tony Pulis for West Brom and Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho were among the four-man shortlist contenders for February’s Manager of the month.
