Exaggerated and unproven death reports and poor understanding of the gaming industry has led to its stigmatisation which has impacted negatively on business.
This is according to Association of Gaming Operators of Kenya chairman Ronald Karauri who said the industry is heavily taxed due to many misconceptions on its effects and earnings. Karauri, who appeared before the Parliamentary committee on Labour and Social Welfare today, said the industry has not been fairly treated by state agencies due to high levels of stigmatisation.
