4 REASONS THE GAMBIA FIASCO CAN NOT HAPPEN IN KENYA.

Angry residents of Yala in Siaya County have torched down Anyiko police post on Monday evening police post over what they called police extra-judicial killings.

The residents were angered by the mysterious death of the boda-boda operator who had earlier on been arrested by the police from that police post.

The residents alleged that the police are behind the death of Eric Ouma, the bodaboda operator.They descended on the police post forcing the police officers that were stationed at the police post to flee for their safety.

 According to the residents, a police office from the station arrested Ouma who had gone to a changaa den to take a sip of the local brew.His mother confirmed that his son was lured to the chagaa den by a friend who bought the local brew before his arrest.This led to his arrest.

 The resident said that the police officers are the ones who forced the residents to torch the police post because they started shooting them when they went to seek answers from them over the killing.

The mother of the deceased said that Ouma was a very humble young man and she was saddened by his death.She said that the government should move in to ensure that those behind the death of his son is arrested and prosecuted.

From the preliminary investigations, it was confirmed that Ouma died in the police station and was later on taken to Yala Sub District Hospital Mortuary.

The police have launched an investigation to know the motive behind the death.On the other hand youths in the area have expressed their fear of police brutality.
