Poor are suffering as doctors boycott work

The medics’ strike has gone way too far. One week or one month without proper medication for a sick body amounts to torture.

I cannot begin to fathom the agony and suffering of poor patients who cannot afford private care.

From the facts presented, the strike does not seem illegal. This is a strike driven by undelivered promises and the need for a response from a political class that is insensitive to the well-being of our nation.

The work of doctors and other professionals needs to be recognised, respected and appreciated. The agreement must have been signed after the Government made a professional assessment and figured there was enough money to protect the poor from a health crisis.

But one thing we are not losing for sure is hope and prayer for a more desirable community.
