This is why a cat has 9 lives

The myth has been there for quite some time, although scientifically, it is believed that a cat has one life just like any other being.

For starters, a lot of people in Kenya do not like cats because they believe that they are majinis. This is especially from all the recent cases that have been happening in Mombasa. I used to have a cat, but before it died I actually came to believe why cats have nine lives.

In Mombasa, they say you can’t kill a cat by poisoning it, well, this is very true. My cat was got poisoned but it never died, instead it vomited the poison; other beings would instantly die in this case.

Cats are able to jump and land from very tall buildings but they will not die as compared to all the other injuries. If you look at cases of building collapsing or burning down, if there was a cat in such a building, it would come out alive. Unlike other cases where you will hear that there have been at least 50 people dead. Their ability to survive such catastrophes makes me believe that they indeed have nine lives.

The way they run in front of speeding cars and don’t get knocked down is also another reason. Jumping up and down trees and don’t get injured at all clears it all.

Last but not least, nine is known to be a magical number, and since there are a number of people who fear and worship cats at the same time, cats are therefore said to have nine lives.
