Dear Raila, Luhyia voters will not "eat" former Ministers

Dear Raila Odinga, I am writing to you about the speeches you made at Mudede Market and other several places while you were touring the Luhyia nation in the former Western province on 18th July 2016. In your speech you were using very flimsy reasons as your argument as to why the Luhyia people in the former Western province of Kenya must vote for you.

One of the reasons you seriously cited as a basis for having the people from this region vote for you, is that you appointed very many ministers from the Luhyia community when you were the prime minister. Mr. Odinga you are wrong and misguided, if not you are simply being driven by outright disrespect for the Luhyia nation when it comes to politics.

The fact is that, your former ministers in your government cannot be a reason for us the people of Western province to vote for you in the coming general election, as you seek for the chance to be the president of Kenya. You are aware that the ministers you appointed are now in the past, we neither “eat” the former ministers nor do we need strong men, but instead we as any other person in Kenya need strong institutions.

The Luhyia nation produces the most qualified and hardworking persons only excluded into poverty because of political insensibility. Thus appointing one of them to be a minister or a cabinet secretary must not be an act of political bribery but instead it should be done through a social system of fair chances to all that merit and qualify. It was and still it is long overdue.

You may be ill-advised to be feeling that your former premiership was a source of happiness to the Luhyia nation. No. It was not, In fact your betrayal of Michael Wamalwa is one of the sociopolitical dongles that led to your premiership, and also your premiership came after the bloodshed in Kenya which almost everyone was affected.

It is an open sarcasm or indirect insult to the Luhyia community for you to argue that you appointed Luhyia Ministers, when the technical truth is that you were passionately busy taking multibillion projects like Kisumu international airport to your rural home in Kisumu, while factories like Pan African paper mills, Mumias Sugar company and Nzoia sugar company collapse during your reign as the Prime Minister of Kenya.

Don’t you think you look politically ridiculous when you talk of having appointed Luhyia Ministers when your co-partner in the coalition, Mwai Kibaki, did the same and even went an extra mile to establish two more public Universities for the Luhyia community?

The people of the Luhyia nation are not going to vote for you to be the president of Kenya in the next coming general elections because of the following reasons; Your reasons for vying to be the president are flimsy, you are also expected to support one leader from the Luhyia nation for presidency, you have never  apologized to the community for having betrayed and humiliated Michael Wamalwa, the way you are dealing with Moses Wetangula is so suspicious just the same way you have been dealing with Ababu Namwamba, you always use the Luhyia nation as a source of your votes so that you can get power to take projects to your home in Luo Nyanza and hence we the people of the Luhyia nation look at you as a political betrayer to the Luhyia political socialization.

In this regard therefore Mr.Odinga, the Luhyia nation is set to work with Jubilee government for the next six years, because of economic and social development reasons. It will be like this as a way of appreciation in respect to the establishment of factories and revitalization of the failing factories in Western province. Establishment of Kibabii University in Bungoma by Uhuru Kenyatta was a very kind act to the people of Bungoma. This is why some of us from the community are very appreciative to President Uhuru Kenyatta, and hence we request that Raila Odinga must and should leave the Luhyia nation to find its way in Kenyan politics.
