Improve workers' safety in industries

Industries in our country play a very vital role in solving unemployment. However, these industries should ensure safety for their workers at all times.

It is evident that most industries do not invest well in the safety of their workers.

For instance, most workers exposed to toxic chemicals are not protected against toxins that affect their breathing as well as digestive systems.

As a result of continuous exposure to these industrial toxics, those working in certain industries have fallen victim to side effects, therefore forcing them to incur lots of costs in seeking medical attention.

In other instances, medical bills have overwhelmed the victims’ financial capabilities, leading to loss of life.

Considering that the same working conditions still prevail in our industries, it is important that labour unions as well as responsible ministries team up for the good of our workers, bearing in mind that some of these illnesses could affect future generations.
