The County Government of Nairobi’s move to oust boda boda operators from the central business district will bring much-needed sanity in this populous region.
In as much as there are a certain people happy with this news, others are lamenting the possible loss of business.
A large number of these cyclists dropped out of school and decided to venture in this venture.
Boda bodas are the cheapest mode of transport for the mwananchi. They are also fast since they are not normally caught up in traffic, and this enables the passenger to reach his /her destination within the shortest time possible.
It would be best if the authorities gave reasonable reasons as to why they decided to ban them from the CBD. Let there be equity in decision making.
Meanwhile, I urge Nairobi Governor, Dr Evans Kidero, to revoke this move and consider the lifeline of that cyclist who strongly depends on this business mode to support his family.
